Cover factory holes nicely. Wrap the decklid you have gloss black, relatively cheap and easy to do.

Get the matte black one from mmd and have it painted gloss black. That's the "second best" option.

You could just pull the emblem and wrap the decklid and hope the holes don't show.

I still don't get why MMD wouldn't paint it gloss black to begin with.

i got the matte MMD decklid and today went to a paint shop. They said the shine won't be the same between the plastic and paint and that the black from the paint would most likely be a "deeper black". IDK what i'm going to do. I may try to polish out the plastic to a gloss using plastic polish, or I may try wrapping it. I don't know why they wouldn't offer a gloss molded panel.

I'm in the same boat looking for options as I want a plain gloss black decklid.

I will probably get it painted and it should be a close enough match to the gloss tailight housings. Anything is better than that awful primer looking decklid finish.

They could make a killing and sell a ton more if they just had them all painted gloss in the first place as there are no other options at this time.

After I plucked my emblem I filled the holes with plastic wood putty. Thought I did a pretty good job of smoothing them out. I had it wrapped in gloss black, good color match but the holes stand out more than before the wrap. I even have the dimple that was hid by the emblem. Also bubbles in the wrap that are supposed to come out in the sun.... not so far. The matte black is looking good at this point.

All you had to do was give them your taillight trim to paint also, then it would've matched 100%.

I didn't buy the tail light trim because i figured it would sit higher than the decklid at that point since it adds a layer of plastic. But plastic polish will get this mirror shiny! I used PlastX from Meguiars to get it polished out. It will have a slight orange peel texture. I went over it extremely lightly with 1500 wet and that made it glass smooth and reflective. It looks identical to the stock in shade and reflectiveness. I'm going to go over it with 2000 and 3000 today and buff with a machine with plastx one more time to get the faint swirls 1500 leaves behind and that should be good to go.
