I bought a dash cam, which is about the most fun thing ever. Currently I've just got it mounted on the windshield with the power wire hanging straight down to the cig adapter. It's got 25 feet of cable and now that I'm addicted to it I'd like to make the wiring permanent.

Anyone have experience with this? Obviously I'll start by running it under the head liner, but is there a good, mostly clean route to take down in the pillars, under/behind the glove box and discreetly to the lighter plug on the dash or in the center console? I'm not big on popping panels because they'll be susceptible to rattling, but I'd like to run the wire pretty clean. I'll already have the radar detector wire laying across the dash but that's easily removed.

Get a mirror tap. I did that and its tucked neatly behind my mirror, dont even know its there. ANd no crazy long cables. It also turns on and off with car.

In the beginning of this video I show how I wired mine up last year so that it hides most of the wires but still allows me to plug and unplug it when I want.

I didn't dig real deep but I don't see a way for me to use that and use my USB cable to power the camera. I'd also like a way to connect my camera AND radar detector but I don't think I can double tap. I sent them a message. It would be nice to have both but I would do the camera first. The RD cable is pretty short and not really in the way.

I just ran my wire up the passenger A-pillar up under the headliner and out from the wire hider behind the mirror. I connected to "always on power" because I like to have the camera recording when I'm not there. In my last car I didn't drive it for two weeks and it still started up like normal despite running the camera the whole time. :)
