Hello everyone,
I am trying to find the best setup for my car. I have a 16 gt A6 with roush phase 1 blower with 3.15 gears. I am stuck between going 275 or the 305 and then I am stuck in going on a 28” or 26” tire. I am not too familiar with gears and how the tire height changes it but pretty much I just want to make sure I get a tire that makes the car run slower. I have read a lot on the forum but just want to make sure. Thanks

Your first issue will be the Roush tune if you are still running that. If not move on. If so best bet is to resolve that with a proper tune that will allow the package to perform like it was meant to. Been there done that.

28" tire on the setup. Everyone has their opinion on brand. Choose your poison.

28" tire will drop rpm's roughly 500 lower than a 26" tire at same speed.

Yes I already have a Palm Beach Dyno tune which definitely woke the car up and now gave me additional traction issues. If that’s the case do you guys recommend going with a 305/45/17 or 275/50/17?

I have always run the 305 on the 17" setups. The 28"x11.5" standard tire will suffice. That is a standard reference to this tire size across the board. Tire makers will vary some off of this dimension +/- but they all fall under the same size reference category. Talk to locals at your track and get their feel on whether to go bias ply or radial type tires. If I keep this car and track it again I plan to borrow a friends bias ply slick setup and give them a try to decide if I want to convert to a bias ply DR vice my current radial setup.
