Odd.... On BBKs website the catted version is $469. The off road one is around the $220 mark. I might just have to pick one up if this price is correct!

Would like to get long tubes someday, aren't there still tuning issues?

Yes unfortunately.... The tune I have right now does a good job at masking the issue and is a very drivable tune. It is still not perfect though.

What's wrong with the long tube header set up?
The tune is not quite perfect. Lean spot in the tune around the 2800 rpm mark that Torrie has been unable to fix. The only way he could is if he had my car in his possession for dyno tuning. Since I live 800 miles away that is not exactly feasible....

Let me know how the bama tune works with the long tubes if you're getting it because I'm looking to get long tubes as well!

Will do! Just wait on some confirmation before I buy. I don't want to buy another tune only to find that they to have not fixed the issue.

Does anyone know why that is the case? Also how are datalogs ran using Torrie's tune? Is it 5 minute idle, 5 minute cruise, and 2K-WOT pull? I hope this issue is hammered out as long tube headers even do wonders on n/a 4 bangers. I can only imagine what they will do once properly hammered out on the Cyclone.

From what I am told, (form Torrie) there is an issue in the short trim fuel calculation that causes the ecu to decrease fuel for the area between 2800-3000. This causes a noticeable hesitation when at around 50-75% throttle or when pulling from 3rd gear through 4th. The current "fix" has been to dump more fuel into the engine to try and mask the issue. Obviously I would prefer a tune that fixes the issue directly rather then masking it. Torrie unfortunately can't nail it in with datalogging and requires the car for dyno tuning. Since I am 800 miles away that makes things difficult.

I hope so as well. Seems like some weird lean burn calibration Ford put in place to achieve MPGs or something (purely speculation on my part). I am interested to see what the Bama tunes will do now and how will they address the issue or if they will address the issue.

Well I just got an email back from BAMA and they say their tune fixes the issue. At the very least I know they have access to a shop V6 and dyno if the issue does still arise. Will likely be getting the tune by the end of the week!
