Does anyone here have any decent photos of the 15 mustang's base interior? I know what the major differences are but would just like to see some pictures. Any pictures of this diamond mesh aluminum? Any of the base cloth seats? (Non recaro) Door panels and inserts? I am also assuming that the soft touch material found in the car on the door panels and center console will also be present in the base model? I know there was a silver or magnetic base model at a car show at some point as well as that gt pace car. Anyone seen any pictures of the interiors of these cars? I'm trying to decide between playing it safe with a base model or stretching my budget somewhat for a preminum.

Scroll down, you will see pictures of base interior with Recaros but one of the pictures has the cloth rear seat so you get the idea. The seats are all the same no matter the model, ones leather ones cloth. You can see the door panels etc.
I have seen those. Wasn't sure if the stitching design was going to be the same for the base seats. As far as that soft touch material goes... Would that be the same on base models? Obviously the dash will remain the same but what about the door panels and the center console? That is what's got me worried the most about the base interior.

I don't know what exactly you are asking, they have white stitching in both trims unless you order the one of the special trim groups. These pictures make it pretty clear what the door panels/dash/console look like. The only differences are where they use cloth in the base trim, they add leather on the premium.

I would say just wait until they hit the lots but you will be hard pressed to find dealers initially ordering base Mustangs due to the '15 moving up the scale in it's market. Dealers will all fill the showrooms with premiums because they make a premium and have all the gadgets upscale buyers REQUIRE.

The days of getting a Notchback 5.0LX is long gone. The 300A I ordered comes standard with too many gadgets for me. If I could have ordered a car with roll up windows I would have.

I'm not referring to design changes to the center console. I'm referring to the soft touch material the top of the center console and door panels are made out of. I am worried that these areas are going to be hard plastic on base model's with the soft touch material reserved for premium level models... Seems like something ford might do as another incentive for people to move to premium.

As far as the center console goes(around shifter, e brake and cup holders), that was hard plastic on the EB premium that I was in. The top of the door panel had the soft touch material. I would be very surprised if Ford changed that part to a hard plastic in base models. That would be the only thing that would give the otherwise very nice interior a low rent feel to it, IMO)

When I saw the Ecoboost at Jerry's ford I thought the console was soft touch. Defiantly didn't feel like the hard plastic in the s197's. I agree with you on that last statement. I would be perfectly fine with the base interior (obviously leather would be nice but not needed on a monthly payment) provided that these soft touch areas don't change to hard plastic.

Cool, you saw the same car I did. Somebody had mentioned here in a post that the center console was a hard plastic, so I made a point to check that out. It defiantly wasn't the same material that was on the door panels.

You never know but I doubt Ford would go through the expense of having two different sets of plastic for the cars console or main door panel. Remember the base cars account for much less than 50% make up so it would be cheaper to install premium materials in the base car vs having a separate plastic on major components for a low production mix. It would be like having different plastic in the rear quarter(rear seat) area between the trim levels.

With a lot of newer cars, even the "Hard plastic" is getting softer and better. I have not sat in any '15 mustang, but I have sat in other new cars where I'd deem the plastic 'hard' if I knock on it with the back of my knuckle yet when I felt the same plastic with my fingertips it has an almost rubberized softness to the texture that is so improved on hard plastics of yester years that it's difficult to label it "hard plastic".
