Barton replied to a thread a few months ago saying they were going to be coming out with a solid mount like the MGW soon but I haven't heard any updates yet. I replied to that thread and sent a PM but they never replied.

Anybody heard any updates?

I'm about to buy the MGW but I'd rather wait and get a Barton if they come out with a solid mount because they offer a shorter throw than MGW and they retain the factory pull up reverse lockout.

I don't want to de-rail you, but just wanted to say that with the Barton installed, I haven't needed a bushing or brace at all. I've been to the track a few times and haven't come close to missing a gear yet. The Barton is smooth, no added NVH and extremely short shifting.

I waited a few days and never received a response so I just ordered the MGW. I'm sure the Barton is a huge improvement over stock But there's no way to argue a solid mount isn't a better design. Barton could come out with a more refined linkage to use with their body mount shifter but even then it wouldn't be as efficient as solid mount. And the fact that they are the same
Price and the MGW includes additional components is even
More impressive.

Can't argue with you there.

Same thing that made me go MGW.

Can't wait to get it installed.

Will you do a quick write up after you install and spend some time with it. I am very curious about added NVH.

Yeah, will post a short review on it and the Boomba knob as a combo.

Sounds like I'm gonna go with the MGW, I really wanted to keep the pull-up reverse, since I'm so use to it. But sometimes it's better to change and adapt!

I did too, but the solid mount was a game changer. Cost the same as the Barton, and I didn't have to buy another 300 dollar bracket to get exactly what I wanted.

FYI mgw is working on a pull up collar version. I prefer push down... That's what I bought

My old Acura was a push down, but I really do like the collar. Seems more naturals and safer to me.

I feel the Barton even without the solid mount is excellent. Perfect shifts every time.

No doubt that it's a million times better than the stock setup. They're supposed to be releasing some new features shortly as well.
