I ordered some leather takeoffs to replace my cloth interior. I really like the suede look of the California Special cars' interiors. I'm thinking of having an upholstery shop remove the seating sections of both leather front seats, and replacing it with Alcantara/suede. Does the Alcantara hold up and not get trashed in short order? I'm pretty anal about cleaning my car and would not neglect it. Thought? Thanks!!

I think as long as it's in an area that no bare skin touches, it will not get too disgusting.
Steering wheel is the worst.

alcantara holds up really well. I'd get it perforated if you're doing the seat centers in it. It doesn't breathe at all and will be swamp ass central in the summer, even with the A/C on.

I have full leather in my f150 and alcantara inserts in my car. I would take the alcantara any day over full leather.
