I bought a used bone stock 2023 GT with 4,500 miles from an out of state Ford dealer (had it shipped to me). Drove it less than 10 miles, literally didn't exceed 45 miles an hour and I started hearing a knocking noise.

Took it to my local Ford dealer and 3 weeks later their telling me it has a bad bearing, needs a new engine, and will be with them for months until they get the parts.

Under warranty, but Im not sure what questions to ask to make sure the repairs are done right.

I had plans to boost it, now Im wondering if they could put a whipple on it under warranty?

Probably bad parts or assembly if it died that fast. Still in the first oil change period.

FWIW the "whipple warranty" is 3/36 from the original purchase date of the car so probably won't do you much good.

I assume I am getting a new warranty with the new motor? I am just super nervous to boost it now. I knew boosting it myself (was planning on doing a ESS over the winter) would void the warranty, but almost all of the material I was reading on the coyote was that it was a super reliable motor and loved boost. Now that this happened. I feel like my whole plan for the car is turned upside down.

Put the ESS on over the winter! Freak problems happen! I had a weird bearing failure on my ESS 1400 miles after install. They(ESS) warrantied it quickly. I have to admit that I was/am paranoid about another failure, but, I have 2,000 miles on it since. SUPER fun to daily!!

Id love too, was hoping to buy one next week when sales pop up, but I have no idea how long its going to take. They made it sound like it will be months, so probably not until the spring until the car is ready to go.

How long it's going to take to receive or install? Install is SUPER easy and taking your time can be done in a day or two. If you buy one of their refurbished kits they send within a couple of business days. New order there might be a delay, but they answer questions quickly and would be able to tell you the lead time. I ordered a refurbished kit and ordered everything else needed to install and tune from a couple of vendors on here the same night. I had the ESS first by over a week on some parts.

Every engine manufacturer has some hiccups. Coyote rarely has issues like that, that early. If you plan to boost, boost it. Do the engine breakin miles and go for it. I installed my ess kit with 3000miles on the car
