Evaporator core symptoms began with warmer air coming out of one a/c vent (in my case the right center vent) as opposed to colder air coming out from the left vent. Others also report some grey stains in their windshield. Eventually and not much longer afterwards it stopped cooling completely.

Mine developed an AC issue after around 10,000 miles - would only blow hot air (cold air about 50% of the time.) Dealer found a leak and replaced my AC lines. Blows so cold now it will make your fingers numb. I can barely stand to put it to the coldest setting even in a 90 degree Florida day - success.

I wonder if the the 8200 redline is contributing to compressor failure?

I don't know if the system is significantly different but I had my AC basically blow up about 100 miles after warranty on my 2011 Mustang GT. It wasn't cheap. I've had problems my gt350. The air got extremely humid and blew warm air for 2 days. I took it to the dealers and they couldn't replicate. It recently happened again, but only for about 10 minutes. The smell is very musty.

It seems that A/C failure is a widespread issue, on every model. Actually there is a thread dedicated to that:

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62682

I don't want to scare you, but take a look at post 176.
OMFG... if it ends up being the a/c evap I'm going to be pissed.. That is practically gutting the interior!

I'm wondering if the A/C system is the same on the GT350 as other models??

It should be the same. One thing that might affect the a/c could be the fact that these cars produce a lot of heat, regardless of the model.

I was wondering this exact thing as I assume most A/C compressors won't last long at 8200. I know in Corvettes the A/C automatically shuts off at a certain RPM for this very reason.

Correct me if I am wrong, but 8200 rpm = a lot of heat, right?

I dont know that it's the heat as much as it's the bearings in the compressor. The amount of energy pushing the compressor is depending on how hard the engine is running. Higher RPMs = more stress on the compressor
