When there are around 100 who post then I think it will be a good sample size to use for an average.

I see the average being about 50 to 55 but that is for this Mustang. As I mentioned, I bought my first one brand new at 20. It all depends.

That is probably as close as it will get based on replies thus far.

Bought my S550 when I was 30.

42 and on number #6. Bought my first in 2000 at 20 years old, a 90 GT 5 spd. Bought my current 16 GT PP 6 spd mid december last year. Had an 01 GT, 04 GT, 15 GT and 00 GT in between, all manuals. I just have a thing for rowing through the gears.

The 2000 GT is still around. I completely rebuilt the car for entirely too much money, then sold it to my brother-in-law for around what I paid for it because I was tired of messing with it. I literally replaced everything in that car except the body itself, the main wiring harness and some interior panels that you can't buy new. Rebuilt the engine and transmission while I was at it. Had some fun doing it (and a ton of frustration), learned more than I care to about the new edge mustangs, but have no desire to ever take on that kind of project again. I didn't want that kind of project when I bought it, but every time I looked at the car or did anything to it, I found something that needed to be replaced or repaired. After we sold our house and moved to an apartment, I lost my garage and had nowhere to work on it, so I listed it. He bought it two days after I listed it.

1st Mustang was a 66 notchback in 1988
2nd Mustang was a 67 notchback in 1989 (still had the 66)
Sold them both in 1993
3rd Mustang was a 1977 Mustang II, ‘94/5 ish, don’t ask
4th Mustang 2022 Mach1

70.5, but who's counting?
My first was an 88 fox body LX hatchback 5.0 5 speed bought new. It was my midlife crisis back then.
Second was an identical 90 LX hatchback, when I'd burnt through the gatorbacks and at $700 a set, realized it'd be cheaper to get a new car for $5 more a month than charge a set of tires.
I believe I paid around $13,500 for for each of those cars new.
Lots of years went by and I thought I'd lost the need for speed, but it turns out it never goes away. Just lies dormant for sometimes decades......
Bought a 2004 convertible GT auto a few years ago. It was 12 years old with 28k miles.
Sold it after a year because it turns out I'm not a convertible guy.
Bought a 2005 GT auto, I somehow became shiftless over the years.
It was also 12 years old with 28k miles.
Drove it for 4 years and sold it for exactly what I paid for it at 60k miles.
When the 2020my came out I fell in love with the grabber lime color.
Alas I was in the middle of refinancing my house because of the COVID bullshit, and by the time that misery was over the 2020my was gone.
Early in January last year I found my current 2020 GT for sale at a Ford dealership in Detroit Michigan.
2900 miles and a 7/100 warranty and my grabber lime.
Absolutely flawless, and priced to sell.
I bought it sight unseen and had it shipped down to Texas.
And I still smile every time I look at it or fire it up. That resonator delete H pipe is like angels singing to me.
And I can't go anywhere without someone stopping me and complimenting it.
Definitely the most striking automobile I've ever owned.
Oh, and it's taken at least 10 years off my age. 👍
I mean, just LOOK at that thing..... 😂

I like the "angels singing" comment about the Mustang exhaust, that's soooooo true.... a wonderful sound it is from any V8 Mustang! 😁
