Does anyone know if the 2016 mustang has an Aux input? I know the 2015 did but the 16 doesn't seem to have one when Edmunds says it should. Is it just missing or did ford take it out for a reason?

My guess is that it saves them about $.50 per circuit board manufactured...;)

Since '15 cars are starting to show up in junkyards (ever so slowly), I wonder what would happen if you took the 2015 part from the center console and swapped it into a '16 car...:ninja:

I'm curious if one could buy an adapter to use one of the USB ports to control an external SAT Radio.

I've been trying to find an external bluetooth receiver, but a USB adapter would be nice too. I don't want two XM bills, so something I could take between my car and truck would be nice.

Have you found anything bluetooth by any chance?

Not yet. I was going to take a look at Best Buy today.

I'm not a big fan of the audio quality with bluetooth from my phone but I absolutely HATE radio transmit adapters. HAAAAAAAAAAAATE. My Tacoma doesn't have an AUX either, but I got an adapter that goes in line with the radio antenna cable and overrides the signal. It works really well.

There's a hack out there I read on tacoma world where you can solder a cable right onto the CD player and it overrides the signal when a CD is playing. I think I saw another one that doesn't even require a CD playing. Might end up having to do something like that, although taking the dash (or anything else) apart is the last thing I want to do.

actually, there are a lot of bluetooth transmitters out there for CHEAP. Could probably just output from an XM receiver directly into it and bluetooth to Sync and be good to go. With the transmitter's charge connection plus the satellite's power connection though, it'll be a lot of cabling to tuck.

But that will kill your data though.

I thought about it.. But is it any different than Pandora or Spotify? I think they do a special compression.. But I do understand that.. I have T-Mobile.. So I don't really have to worry about it.. It seems some are bringing back unlimited now too.. I know it isn't THE solution.. But it is a solution.. :)

I use to stream sirus/xm from my phone quite a bit. 5 to 6 hours a day was usually less than 1/2 a gb or less. Some channels are more compressed then others. YMMV.

It does not, I use the hell out of mine and it doesn't really use that much, you can set the quality of the stream. I listen a lot to Howard Stern so I don't need super high rate audio.

Aux ports are a nice feature to have, I suppose they still have some use. Though I don't think it'll be missed by many.

My mom bought a 16 Escape that did not come with an XM receiver. Since she could no longer use XM in her new car, she went to cancel. To retain her business, they sent her a voucher to have an XM modulator professionally installed, for free. Maybe this is an option they would extend to those looking for XM on the base stereo.

Even with the free XM install, I convinced her to cancel XM and just use Spotify since it uses fairly little data. I use it anytime I drive and almost daily at the gym, it turns out to be about 2.5gb a month.
