Haha, same guy I was back then as now. She still knows the package she got. And would be the first to say, if it doesn't involve any of the three, you might as well be talking geometry to me.

Both of those two would be pissed knowing I posted a pic of em in their "in the dirt" clothes and no face paint, haha.

Erm... if you're driving a Jeep Wrangler, you definitely have to know your geometry -- approach / departure / breakover angles; lateral angles for suspension travel; gear ratios for torque multiplication; etc. etc. etc. And for aggressively driving a road car, you need to keep track of slip angles, yaw moment, angular velocity and angular momentum... spring ratios for tuning, CV joint angle ratios, anti-resonance frequency damping...

I mean, if you're offroading you always need to keep track of the standard breakover angle equation, 2*arctan((2*ground clearance)/wheelbase). Geometry is pretty integral to being able to drive a car properly.

Geez just a joke.... But thx for the info... As a lifelong go fast and builder MC, Car, Truck guy, I can assure you there's no issues with "racing/driving properly" picking lines, building or using the hell outta my stuff.... And it doesn't take a bunch of geeking out about the stuff.... I'll give you access to my big box tools and watch ya build a Jeep.... And then we can watch ya wheel the Hammers in it with the vast Geometry knowledge.... Ending up with one of the club wives driving it out or winching ya out... Or see how ya do on a hot lap around Willow Springs without driving off at turn 1....

Well, just saying, I have to use geometric equations multiple times a day for all types of things... and I'm a lawyer, not an engineer. Economic analysis would be pretty useless without calculus.

Also, baseball doesn't have any of those things, and life isn't worth living without baseball.

All of the a/m threads are troll magnets. Most people in them are too selfish and very badly raised to realized that not everyone wants what their over compensating ego "what I want is right for everyone" attitude says they need.

Some people want autos for solid reasons (easier to drive, drag racing are a couple examples) and others want manuals for solid reasons. Me? I could fit all the F's I give about a track with curves on it in a thimble. I want to beat the other guy to the next stoplight and unless you are one of the top .0000001% drivers there, my auto will spank a manual. Unfortunately, the number of people here who think they can drive like that .0000001% are way more than who actually can. But they don't know that.

I just like manual because it's a lot more fun. I am perfectly happy knowing that I'm a tad slower in a straight line to get that fun. The competitive driving I do (autocross) more or less doesn't care since you're usually only in one or two gears, and it's a heck of a lot more engaging for spirited road driving. I'll probably never take the car to a drag strip so the auto was never a consideration.
