Hi Guys,
I am Mark from Germany.

I am not sure if this was discussed before as I did not find anything related here.

The issue occurs while having the Automatic transmission in manual mode, when atempting to shift from 4th in 5th gear, while reving up hi but without going in the limiter, it occures that the transmission shifts directly into sixth gear while showing 5th gear in the display.

Second you can only shift down from 6th to 5th gear if you are at arround 100 mp/h (160 Km/h) or below.

This is a big time problem with all S550 GT Auto here in Germany.
Anyone with that issue in the US? Or maybe it is even already fixed in the US.

cheers,
Mark

Shifting down being at or above 100mph from 6th to 5th - I'm wondering if there is programming logic built in to avoid a catastrophic failure at that speed?

I realize the roads and highways are much different than the US where you may have more open road to cruise at those speeds - but shifting from 6th down the 5th while at 100mph or better - it could be a programmed limiter to avoid mechanical damages to engine or trans.

My thought is if trying to shift down from 100+ to 5th could cause rear wheel lock up at those speeds due to the torque converter changes from the trans to rear (i.e.: immediate slowing down of vehicle via torque converter). There could very well be a safety limiter.
