Depends. Two of the three sponsors I run with there is a lot of down time between sets. This is because of the number of cars and classes. In those two, I shut down. The third, we run back-to-back so I leave it running (no "classes" like SCCA).

I've found that if I shut down the car between runs, the car will not want to idle after starting unless I rev the piss out of the car when I start it up. I think the fuel gets a bit warm and the car idles funky until it dies. Had it happen a couple of times all year. Never had any issues leaving the car on. Co-driver and I run the AC between runs to get the fans on for the radiator, pop the hood, and have one of the AC vents pointed at my camera which is constantly charging for SoloStorm use. Haven't had any issues with it that way!
