Auto - Slow to engage Drive

I did search and didn't see any topics on this.

My 15 GT base Auto i notice is slow to engage Drive after being in reverse.

Example: Start car, put it R and back out of garage/driveway. Stop, put lever in D, wait about 2-3 seconds and then Drive is engaged.

I've accidentally put it in D and then gave it gas an the whole car lurched forward because the revs rose before it was in gear. I've been able to duplicate this pretty consistently.

Car is stock.

Anyone else have this issue? Is this just normal for the 6R80?

Yes, it takes 1-2 seconds to engage compare to other autos I've owned.

I haven't noticed any lag when shifting into Drive or Sport. Sounds like a problem, may need some attention. Hopefully its minor like a refresh.

Today I paid special attention to the time the trans responded when shifting from reverse to D. Low and behold it does take a second to activate. I could hit the gas and get a lurch out of it. So maybe it isn't a problem??

What have you done? Different tune?
I think the stock tune waits about 1 second before engaging the clutch. It's not as fast.

Absolutely nothing, it's bone stock. The transmission is ultra smooth. The only slowness I find is the shift from 1st to 2nd when cold.

I notice this as well, matter of fact, its the only issue I have with this car, all else is beautiful

I think its normal.
My trans has the same behaviour. reverse out of stall, people stare at you for 2-3 seconds while you are not moving out of the way. There my be something you can modify in the tune o fix it but I don't see anything. I'm going to email HPtuners support about it.

The other hesitation I've noticed is on slight downhill, 90* turns at under 5 mph like a yield intersection. the transmission feels like it is in neutral for a second. looking at the shift maps and torque converter clutch engagement for third gear in my tune I saw the car would not down shift to first until stopped. also below 300rpms of the output shaft the torque convertor clutch was allowed a high amount of slip. not sure why the stock tune was like this but modifying that fixed my problem.

Mine has a slight delay as well. Probably normal.
