Those of you with with Auto on/off HID's, have you noticed:

The instrument panel lights automatically dim when the headlights come on, and brighten up when the headlights shut off... which is what they should do, but if driving in overcast skies, my instrument panel lights dim, then sometimes up to 1 minute the headlights will come on. If I come out of a dark garage and into overcast skies, the dash will brighten up in about a minute but the head lights remain on.

Are the instrument panel lights on a delay so that they are not flashing bright/dim ? Just strikes me as odd.

Thank you

there's a headlamp delay you can set somewhere in the menus on the steering wheel. mine was 20 seconds by default, but i think i saw a setting in there that's even longer. perhaps that's the behavior you're seeing.

and from what i can recall, auto headlights are standard across all models and trims.

The only head lamp delay I found was to set how long they stay on after the engine is turned off. There is a dimming setting in the Shaker Pro screen, but that's just for the infotainment system.
