If you insist on calling "Rip off" please justify how you get to your conclusion.
Dave/KPM,

I think the question should really be "how much is the Hennessey name worth"?

Back when you announced the Street Fighter by Whipple kit here

In post 17 of that thread $16808 (USD is still the same @ 1.42) was quoted for the following:

Streeetfighter by Whipple 2015-2016 Mustang GT SC System
Includes: 2016 - 132mm Billet Eliptical Throttle Body
Injectors Included
High Flow Airbox Included
Iridium Spark Plugs
Fluids sundries
Streetfighter Fitment Labour

The only additional parts from the kit above to the Hennessey kit is:

Oil Breathers - $495
Driveline Warranty - $2000
Tune - $1290

If you add these, this will bring the total to: $20,593

So back to my question, Is the Hennessey rear badge worth the difference of $4,384???

As a future Mustang owner with Supercharging in mind (with most using the Whipple Kit as the base for their kits including Street Fighter) it is very confusing to work out who's kit is the best value for money as its all the same hardware essentially.

I'm all for supporting local trade. I would definitely would want local convenience and local support, BUT there is only so much premium I am prepared to pay.

I think that is the reason why they offer multiple options. Streetfighter would have to pay a premium to Hennessy to get the build registered and to use their products as opposed to getting the product directly from Whipple.

Its the same as the Roush kit, which is the same as the Shelby kit.

They all use the Whipple supercharger as the base and then add their own royalties on top, however some people would love to have the prestige title of owning a Hennessy, Roush, Shelby etc. You are paying for a name and I don't think Streetfighter are dressing it up as their best priced option.

^^^^ Spot on, that is way asked is Hennessey worth that much of a premium?

I'm Happy with the KPM/Streetfighter name and will continue to support KPM/Streetfighter. I have their parts for my current XR8 and their quality and support is top notch!

George

PS also added price of tune above.....

I personally wouldn't, I do see some of the appeal to a Shelby car though. However with Hennessy?

John Hennessy doesn't have a very good reputation, but each to their own

Be careful, I brought up the John Hennessy stories and got shot down by KPM saying he's the best bloke out.

I rested my case after that. No more needed to be said.

if it's just a tune then fwkw

full exhaust intake & tune should hit somewhere around the 310rwkw 540nm mark from what US spec cars are at
