So motor is stripped down again to start fresh. Rebuilt it up up again. taking my time with getting the timing correct and all the wires in the correct spot.

So the ups and downs of building your own motor. Fitting the harmonic balancer I snapped the installation bolt that came with the kit. bye bye crank. New crank ordered and balanced and re installed. What a head ache. Now I have a spare chank with a bolt stuck in in it. Got it all back together...

I was reading somewhere that the rear cylinders get hot by the time the coolant reaches the rear and almost pools there (I might be wrong) I would like to modify it so it flows back into the coolant line somewhere else. So coolant is always flowing past the jackets at all times.

So more news, still waiting on the head gaskets however the sump came in and fitte. Fitted the oil by pass fitting from Improved Racing to fit a remount oil filter adapter. The Improved Racing stuff is unreal very well produced and packaged with outstanding instructions. Also fitted the MMR Head...

Yeah GT 550 overkill. I'm not planning on bending or breaking them. The whole engine is being built a little overbuilt. I'm hoping doing it once do it properly.

Sorry it has been so long to respond. I only recently picked up my machined block and crank balanced all nicely done! Taking my time installing things, cleaning, measuring, cleaning again. JE pistons and rings are perfect went in like butter helped with the ARP ring compressor (the first...

Huskeee they sure were. One limiter bash and the right one was gone and the left one wasn't far behind. Thay was on 700hp.Like I said don't need them, they look like they are in place in the police have a look. I have twin 3 in which will let the engine breathe and hopefully make power. Trying...

So I'm still waiting on the engineering shop to get the work done. I've been thinking about it I'm going to cut my losses with those sleeves and just buy another set. whilst I'm at it, I'm going to buy the MMR race oil sump. My thinking it more oil the more cooling. I think in total I'll be...

The car will only be run on E85. I'm starting at 19psi and going to lean on psi until I start seeing knock. Plus the ecu can pull timing it's all too smart for me but I believe 11:1 and less boost is better (dealing with intercooling which is hard on the 2.9L Whipple) The bottom end in this I...

Yay out of Hospital early. I was thinking about the damage to the OPG if the crank was out of round. First thing I did when I got home was to check the end play of the crank 0.05mm or 0.002 whatever that is in inch? So I'm all packing everything up to go to the Engineering shop Monday to drop...

The Mantic is the twin ceramic disc. Was noisy at idle for a bit other than that no issues. The car doesn't like car parks or anything low speed because everything is hard mounted it bunny hops almost, you just have to ride the clutch a bit or choose your route. I'm hoping 3in a bank will be...
  13. Australian All In 17 build (Pic Heavy)

I'd like to try to get to about 23 - 25ish. My plan is to have a 1000hp car at the wheels, the car dynoed previously just shy of 700rwhp on a 3.75 6 rib stock harmonic balancer and 98 fuel. The car is ready for it except for somethings mentioned below. Anything above 1000 would be awesome! I...

Stock cams until I can travel to the states and bring parts back in my suitcase
  15. Australian All In 17 build (Pic Heavy)

Car is already blown with a Whipple Gen3 going to 10 rib and starting at 3.5 pulley planning to pulley down to 2.75 if everything looks good. I had Boundary OPG that came out of the car damaged. I'll be using another set but I'll be checking tolerances when going in and the MFP crank support...
  16. Australian All In 17 build (Pic Heavy)

I never wanted a race car. I wanted a car that was fast and can do anything, so A/C is back. I'm just not a fan of the stock leather seats I was looking at the Sparco R333 however I'd like to sit in it and wiggle my arse in it. I'm not a huge fan of it but I could use a normal seat belt when in...
  17. Australian All In 17 build (Pic Heavy)

I'm going to build the engine, I'm a qualified motorcycle mechanic and have built some high performance inline 4 race engines, only issues is there is two banks. There will be lots of measuring and then measuring again. Before anything is assembled. I'm really going to take my time and get it...
  18. Australian All In 17 build (Pic Heavy)

I went aftermarket whole hub assembly they advertised that they had (Japanese bearings) in them. They have been okay for about 7,000km The issue I had was getting to the required torque then 45 degrees for the axle nut I can't remember off the top of my head but it's crazy! Still waiting on...
  19. Australian All In 17 build (Pic Heavy)

One thing I wanted to add the missing cylinder liners that were lost by Fedex. MMR has sent the 2 missing set out to Australia on their dime! I can not rate their customer service high enough. No issues. Bitching just we're really sorry what's your address we'll send them out tomorrow with UPS...
