I think you could carry the exhaust on a set of roof racks too if you have them. That will be my plan to bring the old ones home when I get mine done.

On the noise levels of cat back systems I also seem to recall Streetfighter saying theirs are compliant also so you may find a few have compliant systems if you ask around enough. Or at least they will tell you they are compliant.
If they are compliant then you may as well keep your stock system on there or go for the Borla EU Touring as it sits under 90dba.

You can't have a strong V8 sound if its compliant, unfortunately that's the way it is in our country. The USA has a 95dba level so even most aftermarket systems there do not comply with their regs.

All I can say is that to keep your original system intact and stored just in case!

Unless you are being a dickhead on the road or are nailing it WOT on suburban roads then you are unlikely to be pulled over. Its a matter of being sensible.

By the way someone telling you its compliant is way different to selling you something that is compliant and supplying you the necessary paperwork!

Spot on! You're almost always going to be in illegal Territory once you start putting on an aftermarket exhaust on a V8, might as well make it worth your while and go as loud as you can, ha ha ha!!

I've kept my original exhaust system complete, wrapped up and stacked behind the shed just in case the day ever comes where I'm pulled over and forced to fit it again.

I think as long as you don't hang out where hoons do and do hoon type things you'd be extremely unlucky to get defected by police. Most police are pretty good if they see you're behaving yourself and in fact might only pull you over just to admire your car and have a bit of a chinwag.

The countless times I would get pulled over for that when I first got my VF Redline which was modded with exhaust, CAI and tune and the police were great and just wanted to see what the new commodore was like.

Might just need to cut up the stock exhaust for storage :brokenheart:

How did the others here do it? Will the uncut exhust fit in a ute bed?

Carried mine home in the back of a BF Falcon ute...it is not that huge, but it is damn heavy.

I removed the stock system myself in my garage and fitted the new cat back system in about 4 hours. That was on my own and just taking my time so I didn't damage anything and I spent a fair chunk of time just making sure the tips were perfect.

Care to share how this was done? I'm wondering if I should try to install myself, or take it somewhere. I have ramps, I was thinking of backing it onto them but i'm not sure if that will give me enough room

Yeah mate, it's really easy. If you follow the CJPP video it's a good start. I found that their video isn't 100% correct but it's near enough and really you don't need it as it's such a straight forward job. Ramps would be perfect, I just used a jack and jack stands as that's all I had.

If you can somehow get to use a hoist it will make the job so much easier.

I brought my Borla touring USA version from Fred, I love it.

My complete stock exhaust system is tied to my shed wall. Everyday it reminds me WHY I changed out to an aftermarket system. You cant own a car like a Mustang that sounds like it has had its balls chopped off !!! This is a 50 year old legend.

In all seriousness, people who own a new car like this are not idiots doing burnouts or cutting laps in a main street. Most people including our law appreciate cars like this. As long as you are not been an idiot in a town or attracting unwanted attention, you will be ok. My system is quiet when driving sedate.
