What we need is something like a video hire shop, where you can go and rent an exhaust for the week and that way we can try them all to find the one we like.
@Yuvraj could set one up in his Dad's garage.

This system would cost about $1050 aus .....Its the SLP Loudmouth 2 axle backs (roush touring) which cost me $800 to my door then add a H pipe...Nice sound, no drone, no rasp....apparently nice and deep in real life.

Without the H pipe and factory suitcase just the Axle back....good if like me you want a bit deeper/louder over stock but not "wake your neighbors"

Fitted the Borla s type today...it sounds superb. Nice growl and burble. Loud when you want it, not too loud when taking it easy.....All the pop and excessive rasp on the videos is not there...I am sure that is a product of the microphones and phones used to record the vids. I dont think for me that there is a real need to go louder as it would be attracting the attention of the authorities .
The video put out by Borla themselves that compares all their different systems to suit the S550 is the most accurate.

Very good video.

Makes the Touring sound like a good option too!

Touring was my pick for sure, at least if you go extractors at a later date its still not super loud.

Can I ask how much it cost, supplied and fitted?

Stubai, I was very lucky and bought it in May last year, the dollar was in the eighty cent usa range. Also Beefcake Racing was very kind to me. It was around Aud 1635. These days it is just over 2k I think. That is supplied...exhaust shops would charge around $200 to fit it.

You are right ssb....the touring would give you that peace of mind that mr policeman is not going to use the exhaust as an excuse to nail you. I love a loud exhaust, but not one that drives you insane after a while....the touring is essentially a s type with a resonator in place of the x pipe. The Atak would be too much...probably a bit of fun for a quick weekend blast, but that would be a cop magnet.
I figured that if the s type was too much then I could just fit the touring resonator...they are only about 250usd. But it sounds so good, I doubt that will happen.
If I am honest, the stock system, whilst being very tame, still lets you know that it is a v8....that may be a bit from the sound tube and a fair bit from the boot, 'cos there is no insulation in there and the boot carpet is very thin.
The touring would probably sound like the car should have sounded stock.
Being total petrol heads in this house, we needed more noise than that, but not enough to be changing out the system regularly by being defected.
