Busser, were you still going to go with a custom tune from Adam or just stick with the OTS from Cobb?
I'm in a huge quandary right now..... I was going to in a big direction, purchased the Adam wastegate and was going to get his custom tune then prob the meth, but at this point I keep coming up with more and more mods and I have to draw the line somewhere. I think I'm going to start focusing on suspension mods

I personally went with the Progressive springs from Steeda. I'm actually thinking about swapping over to coilovers now.

I just got the lockout from BMR and I'm prob buying a set of Viking shocks

I believe my case with my blown engine was lspi but really there's just so many variables on what it could have been. The point I tried to make in them posts was if you are tuned do not expect the dealer to replace the engine even if everything is put back to stock. You may think your dealer has your back but when it comes time for them to replace your engine due to your fault we shall see if they actually do. Anyway I am planning to do all mods again....the car is just pitiful without a tune and mods but this time i will just avoid lspi situations and anything else that could potentially be a problem like mixing E30.

Not to get onto you but that's crazy that u paid all of that out of pocket and now your willing to possibly do that all over again? Plus if you know the car is not good enough stock I mean for what you paid for the engine, plus all the mods twice I mean your at a bar GT easily........ Why not go that route? Just curious

It is what it is. Got a couple quotes for a built motor and the prices were just way to far out of reach for me. The car IS good enough stock just some people get some bad luck or blow them up themselves like with lspi or improper fuel mixing, there are thousands of people riding around with more horsepower and miles on there car then I had and still not blowing up. I still have all my mods so all I payed for was a new engine. I got to much money into this car to just go trade it in for a GT. The payments would be outrageous lol. I really like the Ecoboost so I'm willing to stick it out for a few more years atleast.

Well I admire your tenacity for sure, I would be a wreck...... Just listening to any of these makes me nervous. I wonder how much an new ecu costs? Like if it's under $1000, maybe like buy one of this ever happens and install it before the dealer? I mean I don't know....

I'm not sure about that I haven't heard of anyone doing it with our cars. I know that's a big thing with Volkswagens though. Not sure if they get away with it. Good idea though.

Just enjoy your car get a pro-tune if you want just avoid the situations that may damage your engine.

There's probably more blown engines than the 3 posted on this site. And there's probably stock engines blowing up as well that you don't hear about. There are 10s of thousands of ebm out there and not everyone monitors forums or shares their experiences with the world. And I would think lspi is probably a majority of the problem.

LSPI could certainly be a problem. It also could be a problem with the rods in these engines. Just exactly how strong are they?
