If your going to do a lot on street driving with your GT500 are you going to take those mega buck carbon fiber wheels off to protect them. If so have you decided what kind of wheels your going to get ?
I have said this before..... If you think the caliper to wheel drum clearance was bad on the GT350R, wait until you see the GT500. The clearance is atrocious and is a problem waiting to happen.
Iam going with a base car and I have to say by "dumb luck" I actually love the base wheels much more than the expensive Carbon wheels. Got lucky on that one.
I certainly will be getting wheels, cause i am a wheel guy. I plan to get a base 500 car so my stockers will be for sale if they ever make this stupid car. I plan to go with a set of 5 spoke forged wheels, tentatively planning on 21x11.5 square setup with 325/25/21 all around, not sure on brand yet still debating. Don't judge till you see it.
I must say, surprising that Ford would design the front wheel and brake combo with such a tight clearance. One rock in there and your wheel is not going to look so pretty. Would have expected them to allow for debris to have some chance of clearing, considering those carbon wheels are specifically for the 'Track Pack'.
