Ford stopped including the 2.3L EcoBoost engine cover starting in 2021 MY, with the exception of the HPP models. When I traded my 2018 in for my 2022, I forced the dealer to swap it over as part of the deal. This is nothing more than Ford saving $ on what they consider a cosmetic not critical to the car’s function or safety. The drop of the auto gear indicator illumination was another of those $ savings. Whereas things like no hotspot in my 2022 EcoBoost Premium 201A are due to supply chain chip shortages and Ford discounted a whopping $20 off the sticker price for that. I have the paddle shifters so I can’t address that item.
