They have done it before and it would not surprise me for them to do it again, my 5.6 Chrysler had a tax £5 dearer than a 3 litre diesel when I bought it, £215 the next year they decide to put that up to £405 and it just kept going up from there
Yes but the difference with these rules is that it affects all cars under £40k. Where before they could increase the tax on only gas guzzlers.
But only if they don't fine tune it, which is what I can see them doing, by either dropping the price back a bit or more likely adding a emissions clause, but time will tell if they leave it alone or not
