I'm so afraid that hitting a curb, bit of snow, or flexing will cause those rods to royally fckup the bumper where they attach by cracking or breaking. I would LOVE for APR to make this Mate Black Plastic like the OEM.

For those who have installed the splitter, how many of you have removed the existing plastic vs just attaching the splitter to it? I have mine installed and doesn't look as flush as with the OEM plastic. Just wondering where it was bolted when the plastic was removed

I like it but are those rods required? can you install it without the rods?

wow what did you end up using to paint the rods

ecobeastmiami I just used my Iwata with Oxford white base coat and then hit it with clear. You don't need a gun to get good finishes though.

Will the apr splitter replace the belly pan like the steeda? Reason I ask is I have a non pp and am looking to add the pp lip. The pp belly plan is almost as much as the apr splitter.

I was thinking why not get the pp lip and apr splitter instead of the oem pp belly pan.

Slight update - I painted the main part of the support rods. Wanted to test my method and the look on the bigger part before I went onward to the tiny things.

I used caliper paint (as I did my badges) and think it looks awesome. It's durable and it matches the overall look of the factory plastic thingies around the car.

You can replace the PP belly pan with the APR splitter. I actually kept my belly pan in place and added the splitter; believe Cloak did the same, but I know others have just used it to replace it.

As did I. I removed the belly pan, used it as a template, added the APR hardware to attached the splitter to the belly pan, then slid the entire thing up into place, and used all of the factory attachment points (plus longer screws) to fasten it into place.

I didn't want to lose the ducting and front part of the wheel well that the belly pan has.

How difficult was it to install the APR carbon splitter? What is all involved? Thanks.
