Apple CarPlay in a base GT

I’m read the manual and not see how to get CarPlay on my base GT radio. Do I need Sync 3 to do that. I’m gonna be driving to Phoenix from Arkansas in a couple weeks and was wanting to use Waze.
Any help is appreciated.

It requires sync 3. The base head unit doesn’t support it.

So there isn’t a way to get my phone to connect to the radio? Iheart or Xm won’t work? Thanks

Turn phone Bluetooth on, hit the media button on your head unit, it should connect and play whatever you have cued up (YouTube, Spotify, iheart, etc)
