Thinking about adding to the factory system in my 2020.

I’ve heard of SKAR before, but have not used their stuff. Interested in this sub setup. Just wondering if any of you have tried it?

I just put the 10" version of that box in my 2018, and I was really impressed with the quality of the box for the price point. For $150, I wasn't expecting much but it's solid and fits the space really well. Not sure this is the greatest pic, but phone posting it's a little harder to edit.

I used their sound deadening material in many areas of my Mustang and am very satisfied with the result. And the price was reasonable

The box is nice, I used my own sub, their sub wasn't enough for me.

what sub did you go with?
I already had a AudioPipe TXX-BDC4-12D, didn't exactly fit depth wise so I had to get creative temporarily with a couple spacers until I figure something else out.

Well, I have one of the Skar 12" loaded boxes on the way. Am I seeing just an amp? Or is it something more? I am a total idiot when it comes to car audio. But I know my 2018 (9 speaker no sub) sounds like crap compared to my wife's 2019 (B&O with sub) and I need to FIX IT. If you're willing to share details of your set-up, I would appreciate it!

Mine is pretty low-end, so you might want to check some of the other threads. I'm no audiophile, but this works for me.

Basically, it's a 10" SKAR enclosure with a 10" JL audio sub. It's powered by a Kicker 46CXA400 amp. I picked the Kicker amp because a) it was not that expensive, b) it has speaker level inputs, and c) it has a remote gain control.

I picked off the inputs from the rear deck speakers which I had already replaced with PowerBass units that match the OEM connectors. Those also have spade connectors that I could tap from. An important part of doing this is to use ForScan to make sure that the stock EQ setup is not killing all the signal to the rear speakers. Power comes from the battery and it run under the passenger side sill plate. Remote wire is picked off Fuse 23 (telematics), which I repurposed for my radar detector anyway.

You may be too far down the path now, but my first suggestion would be to do the ForScan edit and replace the OEM speakers. The OEM units are laughably bad. Do the front doors (woofers and mids, probably don't bother with tweeters) and the rear deck.

Again, I'm not an audiophile and I'm not going to do a DSP and multiple amps, etc.... but you should probably check out some of the stickies and other threads. Tons of good info there from people who are more into it than I am.

Jeff, this is EXACTLY the kind of info I was looking for! THANK YOU!! I'll get hold of a friend of mine with a Forscan tool.

I installed the Skar 12" enclosed sub, a pair of their 6.5" coax replacing the rear shelf speakers, a 500W mono block amp, and their 2 channel line-out to RCA converter.
It sounds really good! Like I said, I'm no audiophile. I'm sure there are people reading this that would tell me it's junk. My goal was to get it sounding as good as my '19 with the B&O, and I have met or exceeded that. And their stuff is priced right!
