If so, can you please post what the impedance of the stock tweeter is ?

I see most of them for sale are 6ohm or less, which means it will sound much louder than the stock, assuming the stock is 8 ohm... which I read about in other forums.... I am thinking of upgrading but don't want to overdo it and scratch my years :)

Thanks a lot

Use the capacitors that come with what ever you choose to buy and or the crossover set up up your system chosen includes.

Tweeters are 8 ohm on the Shaker 12 speaker system. I installed some 4 ohm, and it was way to harsh, even with the provided capacitor. I plan to try some 6 ohm tweeters soon. When I finally get around to it, I'll let you know if it's any better.

ETA - sorry, didn't realize this was the Shelby forum. I don't know what the impedance is for the Shelby tweeter.

Sound is a personal preference thing. What one might call harsh might sound bright and detailed to someone else. The rest of system plays a role in it as does what you listen to.
If OP is looking to just replace tweeters....save the coin for something else

I have the Kenwood Excelon XR-1603HR installed all around in my car with XR600-6DSP. Was kinda underwhelming to be honest....

Make factory system sound not so bad?

I starting to think it’s all about the budget. Go big or don’t bother

What was the impedance of your removed, original tweeters? Was it 8 Ohm like the regular mustang ... I don't want to remove my plastics twice, would like to buy and just install, for obvious reasons... they are easy to crack and break the fixing tabs.

Thanks

I believe all the tweets are 8
Removal isn’t that tough

Thanks, I already have all 4 speakers replaced, and it sounds pretty good for 100 bucks and change... I have 2 way speakers in the doors, and they do have tweeters which I angled up, but when you close the doors there's much less treble due to position of the tweeter (low and behind the seat).
So I decided to just swap the pillar tweeters, they are hardly audible right now anyway.

I bought these 6 ohm (could not find any 8 ohm, should not be a huge difference anyway ) :

I bought the same ones and hopefully will install them soon. The description says they have silk suspensions, so I’m hoping that makes them less harsh than regular metal downs.

Running infinity tweaters, use the system cross over. Actually all of my speakers are the infinity system, except the center speaker.

Finally got around to insalling the JL tweeters. First impression - too harsh. Even at lowest treble setting, some songs have too much treble. Probably go back to stock and keep searching. Lucking I made speakers harnesses that connect to the factory harness so easy to swap out. I can actually do it now whitout completely removing the a-pillar trim.

I installed the tweeters that came with my door speaker upgrade (Focal ISS 165). The downside is that I had to dremel the housing for them to fit (about 5 minutes per side). The upside is that they look awesome (slide right into to the modified housing on the stock A-pillar), and you can hear claps, snaps, and cymbals like never before.
