I'm thinking about changing to a 45 tall tire just to fill the wheel gap. Does anyone have pictures?

I know it will knock my speedo off a little but I wonder if they will rub.

I mean lets do some quick comparison

The 285/45/19 in comparison with the widest sitting tire known to fit the 315/35/20 Michelin PSS tire

285/45/19 overall diameter is 29.4"

315/35/20 PSS 28.7"

So looking at this its .7" taller then a Michellin PSS so I think its going to be super super close I dont recommend it.

So I found out that the speedo thing is in the gearing and transmission so it doesn't matter how tall your tires are your speedo will be okay. I have 28.7 rear and 27.3 front and my speedo is perfect. Tested it several times. At first I thought it was off because of my shitty $4 GPS app on my phone but compared revs, and cop speed traps and mine is good.

Changing tire size will absolutely alter your speedometer. The VSS(vehicle speed sensor) is indeed in the trans, but the output of the driveshaft still needs to rotate the tires which contact the road. Increasing the circumference of the tires will increase the speed of the car with the same output shaft speed.

I don't know what to tell you man, this is how it is with this 2015, no idea.

I even got it tuned for the new circumference and it's working the same, made no change since it was fine from the get-go.

According to the calculator it has a sidewall height .54. Im not an expert but to me it seems like I have plenty of room for a 285/45/19. When people lower their car how do they fit larger tires? sorry if this is a stupid question...:headbonk:

The size in question is 285/45/19, not 275/45/19, as you have entered in the calculator.

Some people run negative camber to fit larger tires. For example look at Nightmare's project thread: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12723&page=8

I plan to do something similar. I m going from 265-35-20 to 275-40-20. It will add to the side wall height about 0.7". I think that looks better than lowering the car. I m not a fan of lowered mustangs. Just my opinion. Now that only increases the diameter of the wheel by 5%. That will affect drivability minimally if at all. I ve read you can go up in diameter up to about 5 % without issues except for the slight mph change.

My recommendation is go to 1010tire.com and then the tire size calculator. See what the diameter difference is percentage wise stock to your desired tire. More than 5% might affect drivability. Just fitting the new tire may not mean the car will handle and drive well.
