I did. $2708.16 (canadian dollars) taxes and install included for michelin pilot ss. Curious what others have been quoted as tires have such a high retail markup. Thats $540 each for fronts and $599 each for rears. $2278 before taxes/parts/labour.

I had a nail through a tire and it cost me just under $380 for a replacement. I do a lot of business with Americas tire and they hooked me up pretty well. I'm not at all looking forward to changing out all 4 in the future. I'm absolutely very judicious with my entertainment driven traction loss. But, every once in a while you just have to say screw it, I'll buy the tires.

That seems pretty steep. I was quoted around 2K for a set of 4 for my GT with aftermarket wheels and same size tires as the Shelby.

What brand of tires? Where did you get them quoted? The Pilot SS tires are really good and they do cost more than many other brands. If you got a good price it would help others if they know where to shop.

TireRack has them for $400 and $408 USD. Another ~$100 for mounting and balancing at my local mechanic, that's about $1700 USD. Your quote sounds expensive. Even converted, that would be about $2200 CAD.

yep this is about right. Michelin gives a small discount ($70-$90?) when buying 4 tires. If you are going to track more than once or twice I'd say camber plates are a necessity. My fronts are wearing on the outside a lot with only 5 track days and 5,000 miles. If they make it to 10,000 (even with the plates) I'll be happy.

Keep in mind the enviro-nazis in canada may put a crazy high tax on tires to "save the planet" as well.

Are you looking to do double duty on your MPSS's for street and track? Would maybe two sets of wheels and tires be a realistic option for you? I'm doing that. I'd rather chew up a set of Extreme Performance tires than my MPSS's.

I get that price through a guy i know that owns a car repair shop.

I get to pay wholesale price and no tax when paying cash.

Like crashspeeder mentionned, it would come up to about $2200 cdn with taxes.

I say the OP quote is about $400 cdn over.

OK I got it. You were just talking about a special connection/deal you get and not what the average buyer would pay.

Not exactly, OP stated $2700cad tax in/ installed, my guy can do the same set up for $2300 cad tax in/ installed and still doing a slim profit.

So difference of $400cad , some greedy people somewhere.
