I had to travel 8 and half hrs to get premier trim with all the options I wanted on Competition Orange that was in Baltimore...in fact until I bought mine last week. MY car that I bought last thursday was 1 of 2 in the ENTIRE country that has premier trim, 401a, nav, enhanced security, and reverse park assist.... there were PLENTY out there that didn't have premier trim with the other options.

premier trim for some reason is pretty rare. It took me two weeks of searching autotrader, cars.com and ford's search and taking vins and copy and pasting them into the Cotus site to find this car to confirm all options. Process of elimination TOOK FOREVER.

IT was a GIANT PITA to find premier trim!

My dealer called and found the exact car I wanted, minus premier trim. It was either get one without the trim package and pick it up in two days, or order one, wait 8-12 weeks, and hope incentives were still available. I was tired of waiting, so I picked up my car without it. From pictures I noticed the stitching was a bit different, but didn't figure I'd care too much in the long run.

It would have been nice if I found one with it, but at the same time I've never been sitting in my car and thought I wish the interior was nicer.

I'd like to make sure I understand this. The 68b interior DOES come if you ordered the 50th AP?

The center console is still hard plastic with 68B, at least the part around the cup holders / shifter area. The lid to the opening storage area is soft, I'm not sure if that is part of the 68B option or not.
Are you sure? If that's the case... well I regret less now. It is the area I touch the most. I don't touch the top part of the door often anyway. The storage cover is leather but my arm rests on the hard plastic.

Positive, as I have 68B in my car and that area is hard plastic. It doesn't any make any sense that they make the upper dash, where there is no reason to touch it, soft. And the center console that gets touched a lot is hard. Maybe it's a durability thing. But it still seems odd.

For the guys regretting not getting 68B, its understandable. Ford's website and printed materials did a less than stellar job of explaining that particular option, as many threads here on Mustang6G in past few months have shown. To add to the confusion, the feature isn't widely available in dealer inventories. It was a must-have feature in my build and I agree with the general consensus in hoping that the aftermarket can provide an alternative for guys already in their cars - some manufacturer out there has to get in on the soft-touch upper door panel game!

Exactly, as I stated before I got it in my build purely by accident. It took searching here to understand what it offered, because Ford does such a poor job explaining it (which in fairness is true for many of the options across all models).

Hello again.
I did check the German Ford website and it is exactly what I thought they would do in Europe. You order in Europe the Premium Package for an extra 2,500 Euro what includes: Navigation, MyTouch 8", Shaker Pro, silver aluminum wheels with 255/40 tires AND Premium trim leather ( in Europe called soft-touch leather). IMO this package alone makes more sense to me than the "cross-country" hopping FORD North America is doing. (Means: Shaker Pro is included in the BLIS package, rain sensors are included in the ACC package and the premium trim leather (only black or red) is a stand alone option and not already in the Premium package included.

If you only look at the Brochure, you can't even figure out what the premium leather package is all about . I remember that some of us here did guess around if it is only the stitching what is different and should cost $395.

I had ordered it on mine but when my dealer started adding a $5k fee to all cars I picked one up off the lot elsewhere w/out it. I really wish I had it - to the point I'll either be buying the panels or getting some custom upholstery work done.

To be honest, all this minor interior nonsense is only particularly important when you're ordering and dont have the car in front of you. Once you get it, you think about the motor and the driving experience, and minor interior stuff doesnt even matter. So I doubt many people who have a premium without it really give too much of a damn now that they have the car.

My biggest peeve about my S197 was that I rested my left arm on the cheapest, hardest plastic I'd ever felt in a vehicle. Now it's resting on soft leather (or vinyl, whatever) instead. It's a huge plus for me.

I've been wondering about taking the center console out and getting it leather wrapped to match the storage compartment cover. Maybe...

Seems like a good way to introduce a lot of rattles.

I'd be interested in how this would look. Seems like everything in the front is soft touch [with premium trim] and then the center portion of the console is the same old hard plastic we have in our older mustangs.
