Anybody ever remove the "Since 1964" dash emblem?

Anybody ever remove this (see pic)? If so, how?

I am considering dying it a red, white and blue theme to bring a splash of color to the dash.

I did with a small flat head to put a custom one in. Bent the hell out of it pulling it. Maybe try some heat and work it off slowly maybe to keep in in one piece.

I have also considered the "Powered by Ford" which would perfectly cover it and bring a splash of new color instead:

What did it look like behind it, same as the surrounding area?

no, there is an indexing opening for the badge. a wide "+" sign if I remember correctly. at least on the 16's.
