I am reaching out to all the special order experts out there. I am planning to order my dream car in late February/early March and I am eager to get some advice on where to start the negotiations with the dealer. This assumes no x-plan or Costco. Just direct haggling with the dealer. The current design I am looking at is:
2019 Mustang GT Premium Convertible $44,855
6-speed manual
400A Equipment Group
Black Accent Package $995
Tan Leather Seats
Shadow Black
B & O Premium Sound $895
Destination to SoCal $1,095
MSRP off the Ford site $47,840
Planning to put down $20,000 in cash and finance the remainder. Of course I hope to win the lottery on Ford Cash, etc. when the car arrives but to begin with I am looking at worst case and no Ford benefits. Just a solid price based on negotiations.
Any suggestions? Lead with the standard 8-10%?
Thanks very much for any thoughts you might have.
Cheers
