Any Shaker Pro Reviews?

I tried searching the forums to see if there are any reviews about the Shaker Pro audio system but nothing. Have any of you had the opportunity to listen to the Pro version? If so, what are your thoughts? I ask cause my dealer is getting a stock order this month but it doesn't have the Shaker Pro that I ordered on my retail. Thanks for your help.

Audio is such a subjective topic. I got a chance to listen to the Shaker and Shaker Pro today back to back. The Shaker Pro provides a lot more range in the low end for a more complete sound. Both systems are superior to the Shaker in my GT500 and the Sony system in my 14 Escape.

I really think for the price paid people will be disappointed. I have it and don't like it. I would probably be happy with it if it was not supposed to be the premium sound system option. I've had factory regular sound sytems that sound better. Louder and clearer. Brighter etc. it's no Bueno.

I think some people may like it but it's way over priced.

Ok here's some info and I hope it might help. I just picked up my 401a today in San Diego and drove it back from there to Las Vegas where I live. My 400a is on quality hold and I did not want to wait.

I traded in a 2006 V6 with an all Alpine system that cost me about $3500 (maybe more) and was upgraded as recently as a year ago to all digital amps. That system was laud and sounded great, exceptionally clean.

I consider my self an Audiophile and have had serious systems in my cars for years. Alpine was my flavor of the last 4-5 years but I was planning on dropping $2-3k for a custom system probably not Alpine.

So here's my opinion. Sound quality is decent. On par with my alpine systems of past. It could be louder in my opinion but I like really loud music and most people would find my listening volumes disturbing. That being said, it's not bad for loudness. Definitely loud enough for most people.

The main benefit is the compact sub in the trunk. I had a chunky 10" sub set up and amps stuck to the back of the folding rear seats. I have defiantly reclaimed most of my trunk space. Feels good.

Ok, a lot has been said about value and that you can spend $1700 on an aftermarket system. My answer to that is this. If you were to go to best buy and drop $1700 on a system, including installation, you would probably wind up with the same sounding system with about the same loudness. Trust me I know, you need to break the $2k mark and better, likely $3-4k to go into another quality tier with a full system i.e. amps, speakers, sub, sub amp, amp kits, capacitor, Hi-Lo switch, sound proofing and installation.

Next part is interesting because now that I have a 401a with the BLIS and memory seat I love it. I would have never ordered these items but now that I have them I am sold. I drove from San Diego to Las Vegas today and the BLIS system was awesome. California's roads are in some of the worst condition I have ever seen and with traffic doing 75-80 car to car with all lanes full it was a white knuckle ride from San Diego to San Bernardino. Especially with a new car. Then there were people speeding up on me to get a look at the car.

As for the Memory Seat. Shut the car off and it slides back and allows you to exit. You have a few settings so you can have a highway cruise set up or a city driving set up. Again, now that I have it I love it.

Back to the topic, $1700 for Shaker Pro, Blis and Memory Seat worth it? IMO yes.

I concur. The comments on the forums about sound volumes with windows down make me wonder about local laws with some of the people. If I drive around playing Pantera at 75% volume I'm begging for a ticket around here, and with window tints, plate covers, and soon to be cat backs, that's not smart for me personally. ;)

Make sure you turn off speed volume. Depending on your source it will sound better or worse. Sirius is not a good source neither is blue tooth. I said it sounds decent. I did not say it sounds incredible

Absolutely. Most sources ie: bt, usb, iPhone have a much lower bit rate. Try a good quality cd to really test your system.

I also have it and think my Focus Titanium sounds better. However, I really wanted it (401A) for the BLIS and memory seating since my wife and I will both be driving it.

Ill try that. I don't mean to bash the system because I love the car but I was just giving an honest opinion. I like to drive with the windows down on the highway sometimes and with the road noise I had to max the radio out to hear it.

Used a direct connected USB drive rather than BT this afternoon while cruising around and it sounded worlds better.

I suppose it is breaking in.

I had the opportunity to listen to the two systems back to back today with the exact same CD that I brought with me. The 401A Pro System isn't as bad as people were making it out to be. Is it great, no. My non Mark Levinson Lexus IS audio has a much cleaner sound than the shaker Pro. With that said, I would say it's worth getting the 401A package over the 400A.

When I first tried the Pro, it definitely has a muddiness to it but it's not so god awful that I felt like I needed to immediately rip it all out. The base shaker system was horrible though, to the point where I couldn't see spending that much money on a GT Premium without doing the 401A package. I can live with the Pro system not sounding spectacular after hearing what the other option is.

I have Audio Technica ATH M50's that I listen to my music through at work and my home stereo setup is all Paradigm speakers for reference as to what my level of audiophileness is.
