Basically I’m trying to find a way to get a 2018/19 Shelby Super Snake rear spoiler from the US avoiding horrific shipping and import taxes. It lists at a measly $250 (£200) on the Shelby Store. Has anyone any American friends willing to help out with this? Can things still be sent as gifts as such? I’d imagine ordering direct from the Shelby store is going to cost me £400+ in total and I’m way too tight to spend that kinda money.

£400 in total, including shipping and taxes? Not suggesting that is peanuts however you'd pay at least that kind of money for a spoiler from a UK supplier. Given what you'd save by misrepresenting the cost using Stackry against the inevitable loss of shipping insurance, not to mention committing what is effectively fraud i'd be tempted just to pay the £400. Just sayin

Yeah, I know. Certainly not saying that we shouldn't be trying to save some cash. It's why i've ordered most of my stuff from the US. All i'm saying is that for the amount you'd save, is it worth the potential hassle. It'll come in a 7ft long box which with a declared value of next to nothing may well arouse suspicion. Plus, if it gets battered as they often do you have no scope to claim on insurance.

I dont disagree - its "buyer beware" and all that - I happen to know that Adam would do almost anything for a deal! :giggle:

Just depends on how much of a saving he wants to make ...and the weighing up of the potential risks

that said - I believe a lot of people on here have used Stackry with no issue and with BIG savings!

My question to Adam is - have you checked your usual sources for parts? (ebay and Gumtree):crackup::crackup:

certainly damage is somethign to be cautious of especially on something fragile such as a spoiler, if it was something solid like drop links or such then sure no worries not really going to damage them are you but a fibreglass / resin / whatever spoiler .... probably a little more susceptible. Having said that ofc mine came from china wrapped in bubble wrap and binbags not a mark on it so.

Might just bite the bullet in the new year and order it direct, Hinch has educated me on Stackry now and it looks like a case of 6 and two 3’s as Shelby charge $50 to ship it to the Stackry address.

I’ve also mailed Bill Shepherd mustang place to see what they can sort me it out for with them being our only UK Shelby supplier so will see how we get on.

Anyone else fancy one of these spoilers? Could get a discount on postage if we get 2 or 3 of them.

Yes a group buy may be the ticket. I've a friend in Wiltshire,U.K. who order's gift's an such here in the U.S. and then when on a business trip here will collect the parcel's for return in his boot.

for what it's worth i shipped a spoiler with stackry for $55 same size. Didnt' get any tax because it only cost £35 so apparently avoided it (Didn't just stackry)

But you can stackry it to save a boat load of money. it'll be in a flatish box FYI :)

That is a great price for shipping from the US. Didn't realise it was that cheap...

I bought a roush from States unfortunately it got damaged on its was over, then they couldn’t find the parcel so Ebay refunded me , I then got it from Nemesisuk 2 days later at it was only £30 difference so on that item it wasn’t worth the effort/stress
