Been on a steady decline for a year, lets all go party on nuclear and green energy with out mustangs, what an oxymoron that will be.

I have received an update..

My car is still in the US and not on a boat. Not the update i wanted. EDD 26th March 2016 - which could obviously slip further bearing in mind its not even booked on a boat yet.

So my car will be at least 6months and 1 week old when i finally get it.. :frusty:

On the plus side, its good to see a few more mustangs getting collected.

If anyone has collected a magnetic GT with black wheels and saddle leather.. please send me some pictures.

Have you tried [email protected]? You may find you can get a car that's already here? Though your spec isn't that common I believe.

Hoping for some information from you guys… please..

My car was built 19th September 2015 and finally made it to the docks 3rd Feb 2016.. just under 5 months after the car was built!

What is the general lead time in the docks to getting on a boat?
What is the general lead time from boat to dealer?

To be honest a lot of the joy of getting the mustang has gone.. which is a shame as its been a car i have always wanted and was looking forward to it, hence placing a deposit pre-release to secure an early slot.

I feel like the car is becoming more of an annoyance than something to look forward to, every time i speak to karen or my dealer they only have bad news.. I am a very dissatisfied customer.. I only hope the car is 100%, and some joy returns when i drive it. I will also be interested to see how Ford cares about their customers that have been subject to excessive delays, anyone received any sweeteners?

I hope everyone is enjoying their car that have taken delivery.

DONT let Ford reflect on how you look on the car. The car is awesome and you will forget the whole thing when it comes and you sit behind the wheel.

Trust me the delivery thing is incredibly frustrating but its worth it when you get the car.

As for the lead times, it really is anyones guess. Sorry but it really is that way

Ordered: 25/01/2014
Priced: 24/01/2015
Stripes added: 05/05/2015
Blend date: 18/11/2015
Gate release: 10/12/2015
Set sail from Baltimore: 04/01/2016
Arrived Zeebrugge: 18/01/2016
Transferred to Southampton: 04/02/2016
Delivered: 18/02/2016

Note that it was exactly 2 months from build to Zeebrugge and exactly another month to delivery - which was also exactly what Ford promised. Although of course that is a hell of a long time to wait. Now it is here it is deep joy.

Yes i have been speaking to Karen since November. Which is why i have at least some information. But it doesn't seem to have got my car here any quicker.

Congrats on your new car. Your car was built two months after mine, but delivered to you two months earlier than i am likely to get mine.. it makes me fear that there has been some major issue with my car that has required rectifying.

When i placed the deposit, I had a 15 month old son, not a thought of anymore kids… I now have a 2.5 year old son and 1 month old daughter.. I hope rear facing baby seat fits in the back - didn't think that would be a concern when i ordered it!

I can only give you my timeline which is fairly normal for the current time:

Build: 11/1/16
Gate release: 14/1/16
Docks: 22/1/16
Boat: 23/2/16
Zeebrugge: 8/3/16 (ETA)

From there it should take no more than three weeks to make it on a boat to Southampton then a further week to the dealer.

Of course any of this could change at any point.

I hope they get your car to you asap now its moving. An explanation and sweeteners would be nice but I wouldn't hold my breath on either.

Looking on the bright side, the way things are going you won't need the baby seat to fit. Only kidding!

I'm just under 6ft and you would easily get a child up to 10 years old behind me driving. I'm sure that you can find a baby seat to fit too.

I wouldn't worry too much about this. Even a major problem wouldn't have taken long to fix (or they would have junked it and started again - they're not going to dedicate weeks/months to fixing one car) so the delay won't be due to that. And regardless, it should be perfect when you go to pick it up - there has supposedly been additional attention to detail on the export market cars.

Ford seem to be using WWL exclusively for the UK cars at present and you can track your car on there - https://www.2wglobal.com/
Stick your VIN in the Cargo ID field.
If your car is on a K Line boat however, the games a bust...
