Not sure if anyone can confirm this, but I was at the local dealer this afternoon discussing about pricing and waiting times for the mustang.

He mention that another price rise of 5K+ is going to happen later on this year and have advise if I want one I should order soon. However he couldn't confirm when this will happen because they haven't received the memo from head office on the timeline.

Can anyone confirm this?

I have not heard anything, could be just sales pressure, but take this advice..........."Just order it"

You will have 12 months to thank yourself, each day is 1 day longer until you sign. I should have ordered months earlier than I did, but no I wanted to think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told the same when I ordered mine 2 months ago. But the sales person said the price rise was due Jan 2017.

Just order it, once you drop a deposit on it your price is locked in!

The waiting time he quoted is between 12 -18 months for the GT and about 8 months for the EB.

The sales person is using the price rise as an excuse that the driveway price is not negotiable, which is 3k higher than on the ford website.

You will find the drive away price won't be negotiable at all on these things but it should definitely not be any higher than what is listed on the Ford website. I would be stating the price on the Ford website and asking them to match it or go find another Dealer.

If you look around you might find the right dealer willing to negotiate, the first dealer quoted me 2.5k higher than Ford website and said it's an error that the website is displaying a lower price.

The second dealer gave me a $1350 discount from what ford recommended on their website and still believed that I could have got more, but I recommend making the deal at the end of the month as the salesperson needs the sale and more willing to compromise on the price.

Pretty sure the sale isn't actually counted in their figures until the sale is completed at delivery and the money has been paid. But I agree with going in towards the end of the month when buying a car as they will be more willing to negotiate to get their sales figures up. It can also go backwards if your too close to the end of the month and they've made their targets for the month, they won't be so willing to discount to try and push customers into the next month.

Unkle Ed is correct the sale doesn't count until its completed at delivery.

That's the reason why I went yesterday. When I normally go to buy a car i aim for the end of the month, financial year and christmas cause its better negotiations.

I agree with Tim, Brennan, I got a lot of quotes all over Sydney then as a result of a thread on the forum I rang Clancy Ford at Bathurst and they really looked after me and gave me a lot better price than I could get from the 10 dealers I spoke with in Sydney.

Did you find another dealer? This one is just trying to play you. I'd not pay a cent more than Ford's listed price for the car and I'm sure you can find a dealer who will charge that.

On the way

I rang my local dealer near Sydney with a price for a GT $2000 under the Ford price. This price was quoted to me by a broker and I just wanted to see if it was a good deal. The dealer called me back an hour later after checking with his boss and they matched the deal without me providing any evidence.
Wonder how much lower they would have gone if pushed?
