I think my enjoyment of this hobby is falling short of my expectations when I bought the car. I bought it with the belief that ICE's & V8's were going to go away, which I still believe they will. However, as a toy car, my Bullitt has only seen about 100 miles of use since I bought it used last year. I love the car, it is always a pleasure to drive, but all the anxiety about door dings, chips, scratches, and putting miles on the car, plus the time to clean and wipe it all down afterward have kept me from driving it. I've taken it to a couple cars & coffee, but after 20 minutes or 1 cup of coffee, I'm bored of my butt and leave.

The other observation I have is the constant pondering or pulling the lever on mods, which can really add up. Combine everything with a cost of about $700.00 a month with payment, insurance, etc., and it's just not giving much joy. I love performance cars, and muscle cars and have owned dozens in my lifetime. Maybe the sun has set for me on this hobby.

I own a couple motorcycles, and I get so much more enjoyment from owning them than the Bullitt. Seriously thinking about just admiring cars from afar, and sticking with motorcycles.

If you still have buyer's remorse a year later, perhaps the Bullitt isn't for you. I totaled my first mustang 4 months ago. It otherwise did not have a nick or scratch. I drive a company vehicle during the week because I'm on call 24/7. I did 15K miles per year in my weekend 'Stang and had some great weekends. Just 1 week shy of the 3 year anniversary, it had 45K miles and had been to 19 states. I went places where I've never been.

In the 4 months it took to settle with insurance and get my special ordered vert, I missed washing it every weekend. I missed dodging water puddles. I missed parking out in "the back forty" with the Beemers and Vets to avoid door dings. I miss the attention when someone is admiring the car when I pull up, and they watch my 275 LB ass get out of the car. I miss finding an end parking spot at a hotel. I miss teenagers oogling over the "big screen" on the dash as well as the subwoofer in the trunk. I miss meeting up with other Mustang enthusiasts who share the common bond as simple as a car. I miss going to my detailer every 6 months and see the smile on his face as he walks around and nods approvingly.

Last Wednesday, I picked up my Vert. As of today, it has 315 miles on it and hasn't been driven since Sunday. If the weather is nice this weekend, I'm meeting a Mustang fan who had to sell his vert and he's willing to give me his wind screen that he had for it. It's about an hour and a half each way, and he won't take any money for it.

Sell it to someone who'll love it, then do what makes you happy. I wish you good luck, and be careful on those crotch rockets.
