All Season Tyres

I have had my Mustang for 8 months now. After a bit of reasearch I learned that there are different type weather tyres.

For a moment I thought, great, I need to spend more money.
After reviewing my tyres today, I noticed that is have 255/40 19W All Weather tyres. Oddly I am very happy now.

Does anyone have an experience with these type tyres?

Also, what does the ‘W’ mean?

The W is the speed rating of the tire. All season tires have pros and cons. They're not bad at anything but not great at anything either. They're a compromise by nature but it works for most people.

All Weather are good unless you are driving the car to the extreme, like track or really aggressive. I had both all weather and summer performance tires. Here in GA when the temp drops below 40-50 or so, the summer tires lose traction and become dangerous to drive on...

you have to decide what you want out of your tire and buy the tire for your use. if youre just going A-B what ever tires you have now work fine barring any snow. you can get better tires.

Tire compounds and Season ratings are a fun black hole to go down, if you don't know much about tires and how harder/softer compounds make a difference in how your car performs, I can link some cool resources that will teach you a lot.

As for All season rubber, they're all not created equal, but like BmacIL said, All Season is the middle of the road compromise. You can rotate them easily if square (same size on all wheels) and you can rock them year long.

However, once you experience summer tires, you will want to always have a set for when the weather gets warm and stays there. I bought all seasons for mine and I regret not just saving the money and going summer. The amount of difference in grip is very noticeable. Yes, I have to swap wheels in the fall and spring but I mean that takes no time, but then again I have a garage and an impact wrench and what not.

Honestly, if you have the $$$, I think everyone with a performance car should have a summer set of wheels on summer tires. I wish I had the $$$ I have been eyeing Firehawk Indy 500s for awhile now.

in my experience if you arnt seeing snow or below 30-40 temps. summer all year round. i do but we experience a small window of below 40
