Sunday morning 5.45am the car alarm system activated, whilst i was staying overnight at a motel.
bolted out my room and the cars lights are flashing horn beeping man it was loud and in the court yard it woke every guest up..... ah well.:D
group of workers about to go to work said they were admiring the car when it just lite up like a xmas tree.

I did find the culprit tho. I left my Hema GPS on the front window and the suction cup had let go and the unit fell off the window,
( I used the HEMA as the cars maps dont work in remote areas)

So I know the alarm works and next time I will take my GPS off the window.

At least that's a positive way to find out that it works. Better than you find someone trying to bust into it!

Or I think you can put it into the partial mode that doesn't go off if there is movement inside.

I'm not sure how it works on the mustang, I haven't checked the manual yet, but on my wife's toyota there is a double locking system. Basically if you press the lock button on the remote twice (or hold the second time), or, if you press the door handle to lock the car and then also lock it with the remote, it activates the double locking which activates the ultrasonic sensors inside the car.

I jacked mine up in the garage a few weeks back and it set the alarm system off at around 10pm at night - had to go grab the keys inside which took a while.

When you turn the engine off you get an option on the centre screen for full guard or reduced guard. If you hit the down arrow and then OK on the steering wheel controls to select reduced guard it disables the ultrasonic sensors. If you park with the windows slightly down, in a secure location of course, good idea to set reduced guard mode or the alarm will go off if anyone walks to close to the side of the car.

Yup, I've triggered mine a few times.
First time was while jacking the car to remove wheels.
Second time had me baffled. Car was sitting in the garage, alarm sounds. Had a look, nothing happening. Goes again a few minutes later....closer inspection required. Opened the door and a moth flew out!
It works alright!!!

Mine goes off every freakin' time I leave my dog in the car and forget to set perimeter only.

...and, no, I don't leave the dog in the car to bake. Just drop off the Redbox or whatever.
