Can't pin point when and why it happens but I'd say about 35% of the time when I lock my 20' GT with the fob, within about 10 seconds or so the alarm goes off. No double honk when locking so I don't think it's a sensor indicating a door or hood is open so I'm not sure why it's happening.

When the alarm goes off, I'll hit the unlock on the fob to shut off the alarm and it will beep/low tone honk twice (slowly though, not like your typical double honk doors open notification)

This started happening after my transmission was replaced by the dealership so I don't know if it's something as simple as disconnecting the battery to reset the system? Maybe it's my fob?

I also don't think it's the panic button on the fob because I've tested it and the only way to turn it off is to hit the panic button again vs the unlock button.

I'm no expert so this is just a wild guess but it almost sounds like there could be something going on with the shifter interlock system. Maybe like it's detecting a false gear change attempt while the car is locked and it sets off the alarm. Or it's not engaging properly and it thinks someone is trying to jimmy something open.

i did alarms for 15 years and 90% of false triggering came from a faulty door/hood/trunk shick tilt ect.. sensor. i would review the prcedure they used for the tranny swap and double check any plugs they needed to touch. for example the other 10% that had the issue was a plug not fully seated by another tech and temp changes/vibration caused it to unseat and then reseat making the sensor trigger or the module reaet and trigger. i think its really just a plug that needs to be redone.
1st is battery reset,
2nd is check all plugs that were touched and 3rd is.... take it back to them and let them figure it out which sucks and will take ages. good luck. def get a FSM or all data ect
