Greetings all,
I starting installing ALP's 3P kit on my 2016 ecoboost Saturday, and ran into a snag yesterday. When you go to install the rear bags, the manual says:
"Insert the nut plate (L) into the opening within the upper spring perch with the flat of the plate facing downward, nut facing upward. Center the assembly over the upper spring perch, with the upper bracket “sight hole” aligned with the notch in the upper spring seat (Fig. 15). Thread the upper bracket bolt into the nut plate, torque to 27Nm (20 lb.-ft.)."
I can get the upper bracket bolt started into the nut plate, but I can't get it tightened down. There seem to be 2 factors preventing this:
1. The weld nut in the nut plate has a locking feature, preventing free and easy rundown.
2. There is nothing in the upper spring perch to prevent the nut plate from spinning continuously.
Has anyone else run across this problem, or know of a way to solve it? Will try to call Air Lift Performance today, as they don't run tech support on the weekends.
