There was a long thread about it at one point on the Mach1 forums Without it MAF readings were more jumpy. Not enough to really matter, but enough to notice when logging it. If you want data just buy a tool that logs your MAF readings and drive around with and w/o it.

How about insulating engine side of airbox and air intake ?

Unless you're sitting idle, airs not likely in your air-box enough to really heat up.

Meh... OMG.

I logged maf counts SCT Livelink 2 in a thread if you looked...? Removing it plus dry flow filter improved maf counts on stock box Sherwood.
