Yeah it's a pain having a vehicle that sits most of the time. My 1999 F250 SD sits a lot. I think I have put about 8,000 miles on it since I bought it 10 years ago. It had 235,000 miles at that time. It had a starter and a coil go out since I owned it. And I've replaced the brakes. My biggest expense has been fluid changes.

But I saved a huge amount of money vs. buying something newer/fewer miles.

The most important after two rating and correct hitch alignments is tire spec.

A friend has a huge Toyota SUV , said the 3000 lb trailer was yanking him around too much so he bought a used full sized Nissan pick up with ten year old tires.

He could have just upgraded his Toyota tires from standard touring tires.
