I recently ordered a few Armor Detail Supply products and today I tried out their wheel cleaner. Color me impressed! I’ve been a P&S Brake Buster devote for awhile now but this may soon change! ADS WC has sodium thioglycolate which is the active ingredient in most iron removers and is the chemical that causes those products to smell like a used diaper filled with Indian food and burnt rubber. However, they added other scents which actually mask the smell very well. It’s almost a pleasant scent compared to CarPro Iron X and others.

Anyways, I washed my EB vert today and started with the wheels. This product sprays well and clings to the surface where Brake Buster seems to slide off. After a minute or so of dwell time the wheels were very purple indicating a lot of iron deposits from the OEM brake pads. A quick brush with my microfiber madness wheel brush and the wheels were sparkly clean again.

Looks like I’ll be buying a gallon of this stuff once my brake buster runs out.

Another home run for ADS!

Will you still use Brake Buster, or has this replaced it for you?

I haven't used it yet, but apparently the ADS iron remover is similar in having less stench. One of the reasons I've used NV Purge and Purify for many years is they don't smell as bad as others on the market. For someone as sensitive to scents and odors as me, its great to have another option out there.

Give it a run, I think it’ll meet your discerning needs!

I've used the wheel cleaner and found it brilliant. I still need to try the iron remover though.

Will you continue using Brake Buster?

I recently purchased another gallon of Brake Buster so it’ll be awhile but I will most likely replace it with ADS wheel cleaner once I run out.

What would you use for tire cleaning?

The combination of the ADS Decon Soap and Iron w Clay mitt is now the best I've used to prep for their PRO Quartz Ceramic Coating. I just received the Wheel Cleaner and will be trying soon as I believe it will be better suited for Coated wheels vs Brake Buster which I have been using for years.

Carpro Retyre is the bees knees for completely stripping a tire. Although the foam tip uses a lot of product it just works. For maintenance duty Brake Buster in a foam sprayer works too.
I like ReTyre, I grab it when I need a sledgehammer. If you want to use less, try spraying into the brush rather than the sidewall.

I've also been using Shine Supply Wise Guy a lot lately, it's one of the stronger ones when mixed at the recommended 1:1, but you could lean it out for regular use.

The ADS Tire Cleaner is very similar and seems to lather up better than P&S Undressed.
