Adding memory seats to 2015-2017 GT Premium

Hi Everyone

I’m working on adding memory seats to my 2016 GT Premium. Based on the information I’ve gathered from different threads, this is the plan I’ve put together.

1. Get a wiring harness from a driver seat that originally came with memory seats (MR3T-14631-EB).
2. Get the memory seat control module that goes under the driver seat (DS7T-14C708-AD).
3. Get the door handle with memory buttons. I believe this should fit my current door panel.
4. Get the driver‑side door wiring harness that supports the memory‑seat function (MR3T-14631-EB).
5. Get the driver‑side door control module (FR3T-14B531-AB).
6. Run two wires from the C210 connector to the C341D connector (they may already be present).

I’d really appreciate it if anyone who has already done this retrofit could confirm:

1. Will this approach work?
2. Are there any Forscan codes that need to be change for the memory function to work?

Should be doable. I would check forscan first before putting in the work. I’m not sure the availability of this feature but if it was available with your same year as yours than your computer should have the option to enable it if forscan has it exposed.

From what I understand, the memory‑seat function is included with the 401A package.

In the video I found, when the memory seat button is programmed, a message appears on the IPC. That makes me think there’s a Forscan setting that needs to be enabled for it to work.

I had looked into this for my ‘22 Maverick, compared it to an Escape; which is the same platform.
There are a couple things you should look for, that I didn’t see you mention:
1. Do the seat motors need to be changed? In my case, the power seat motors do not have the position sensors in them. So I was going to need new motors. My plan was to get a donor seat from a wrecked Escape and swap the seat bottoms; as those frames are the same.
2. The power mirror is part of the system; there is a sensor wire from the door module to it. I wasn‘t sure if that sensor wire could just be left unconnected, or maybe needs to be connected to ground. Don’t want it moving the mirror to an unobtainable position and break the mirror. Maverick and Escape mirrors are not the same, wasn’t sure about the guts. In your case you can probably get a donor Mustang mirror.

As far as Forscan, I was thinking once the proper door module is installed, the option would show up. But not sure.

FWIW - I had planned to just run the extra wires needed and skip the harness.

In the end, I never got around to doing it. I traded for a ‘25 Maverick. And I haven’t done it on that either. Too many other projects.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You’re right — I hadn’t considered the sensors in the seat motors or in the mirror. I just checked my car’s seat, and it only has two wires going to each motor, while my donor seat has four wires per motor. I inspected the motors in my car, and fortunately they do have four pins, so it looks like I’m fine on the seat‑motor side. I’m not sure yet about the mirror motors. Hopefully they’re the same, but if not, I may need to find two motors that support position sensing.

I just checked my car’s seat, and it only has two wires going to each motor, while my donor seat has four wires per motor. I inspected the motors in my car, and fortunately they do have four pins, so it looks like I’m fine on the seat‑motor side. I’m not sure yet about the mirror motors. Hopefully they’re the same, but if not, I may need to find two motors that support position sensing.
