I know there are many topics on the AC that are well documented, however I couldn't find anything quiet like what I am experiencing. A little history, AC blew hot air, Ford refilled the system and put in dye. AC blew hot air again (TSB is out at this time) and replaces the evap core. When it started acting up that time it also had a "wirrrrrrr" sound in the cabin that increases with RPM. Currently the AC is working great however the "wirrrrrrrr" sound remains. This sound only occurs when the compressor is operating. You can turn the AC off in the middle of the cycle and it stops immediately. Anyone else experience this? I'm thinking the compressor took some internal damage when it ran empty those two times. I know there is oil in the fluid....low refrigerant equals low oil? This something normal? None of my other mustangs did this...my 2014 F-150 doesn't do this.

My compressor took a dump at 25k miles and was not associated to the evap. You need a new compressor.

If only it was so easy to get Ford to come to this conclusion... haha. Like I said it works great but the noise is annoying.

Mine was working great to. The noise though will get worse, and if you are still under warranty, Ford will replace it.

+1 Sounds like the AC Compressor. If one dealer doesnt agree to fix it try another.

Could be the compressor, but if its getting worse with the fan speed increasing it could also be the fan itself being out of balance.

If you turn the AC off and just let air blow it doesn't do it. Has to be the compressor in my opinion

Mine goes in Monday for the TSB/evaporator replacement. Hopefully this is the end of my issues. I opened an Auto Line case though in case it doesn't.
