Apologies if this isn't the right thread for this, first time poster...

2020 GT Premium ~20k miles in Florida. If I'm driving from point A to point B, my AC works flawlessly. But if along the way, I stop for gas, and then turn my car back on, it is blowing hot air till I get to point B. Say I'm at point B ~1 hour, I then drive back to point A, AC works perfectly once again. I can drive for like 6 hours and have no problems, as long as I don't stop! If I stop on even a 5-minute drive, the second half of the drive will be with hot air.

Did a quick google search and didn't find much, but I'm thinking it's a switch issue given that it only seems to happen when I stop, turn my car off, and turn it back on again. I've tried just turning it off and on, over and over when this happens, and still can't get it to work... so I end up sweating it out till I get to my destination. It seems like it needs time in between to "reset". Any thoughts? TYIA

Could be a wonky compressor clutch or the relay that activates it. That's an interesting problem.

Sounds like some component (compressor?) is getting overheated, and then cools off during the hot drive, then functions properly again after.

This sounds unusual. It could be a simple problem but probably not a simple troubleshooting.
First thing I'd do is, when it's not working, pop the hood and see if the compressor is activating. If it's turning on then get some guages on and find out what the pressures are doing.
If the compressor is not turning on then you need to backtrack to find out why. There are several sensors that could prevent it from coming on.

One other thought. When it's not working try putting it on defrost and see if cols air is coming out there.
If yes then it's probably something in the dash, like a blend door. If not then see above.
