Hey all, I am having trouble with some of the front and back fitments of vinyl stripes. I bought the kit from American Muscle that comes with the stripes pre-spaced on one sheet, so that's helpful.

My problem is that the front bumper is angled like a 'V'. Obviously not that sharp but there is a slight angle where it comes together in the middle of the car. When I apply the stripes on that piece in between the upper and lower grill, the first problem I run into is that if I do the flat front part perpendicular with the ground first, then when I go to wrap up to the top and bottom of that piece, the V shape of the bumper causes it to turn inwards as you can see in the first picture below. If I instead use the flexibleness of the vinyl to stretch the inner part of the stripe to continue straight up the bumper, it leaves a bunch of vinyl slack on the outside portion of the stripe, creating wrinkles.

In pic two, my other issue is that since the middle and lower sections of that front bumper have that 'V' shape and the hood does not, the stripes appear to be farther apart than they are on the hood even though it was all pre-spaced on the one sheet.

Hoping to hear your guys thoughts, particularly on the first issue. Excuse the
:censored: vinyl work on that middle bumper section, I have plenty extra so I just hurriedly put that on to get pics of my problem for the forums and will redo it.

Thanks!

Try this. Start on top of bumper near grille first. Then down onto front of bumper.

Hey Southview, thanks for the reply. Won't starting at the top give me the same problem? It'll still curve or leave me with excess on the outer half of the stripes to cause wrinkles, beleive it or not I actually tried that as well, though not for as long. After watching a few vids, it seemed people were stsrting with the main front face.

Thanks!

I would start at the top to eliminate it being short. After getting the top stuck down you can cut up the middle of the paper to spread the stripes apart. So basically you will be doing it one side at a time. Try and not use a lot of heat. You have to find a happy medium between the amount. Too much and you get the wrinkles. I wish I could help but I don't think you would want to drive here.
