My dealer and I have finally found out why NONE of the A6 SD chips have been able to map lake bodies. Lakes are displayed ONLY as a single blue labelled dot! This mapping glitch ONLY occurs for Minnesota and the upper half of Wisconsin! The older 2014 A5 SD chip maps lakes correctly everywhere. It appears that Here/Nokia that provides the A6 SD chips for Ford MFT GPS navigation never got around to including lake bodies for Minnesota and northern Wisconsin! Lake Superior at Duluth, MN is shown as a giant blank area, while the Canadian section north of the border is mapped correctly. Lake Michigan is mapped correctly but no lakes are displayed in northern Wisconsin.

I have a feeling that Ford will not be doing any correction on the A6 SD chips. Ford Service actually asked me 'which lake in Minnesota is not mapped correctly?" I replied: "how many thousand names do you want me to email to you?"

With Sync 3 coming on the 2016s...Ford will probably respond the same way they did about the 4,000 Mustangs that were held for nearly six weeks this last winter...nothing!

My A6 chip in the Mustang and my wife's edge does display lakes properly . I saw another thread that said it's the early A6 chips that are doing this

"Jeepwx03": I was the Forum member who mentioned getting info from Ford about the early A6 chips. It seems that ALL of the A6 SD chips have missing lake body data for MN and upper WI. I just happened to be perhaps the first person to notice the problem early on. I noticed that you are located in PA, so you should have good water body mapping...as long as you don't expect it to work correctly while driving through MN!
I spent one afternoon, setting destinations across the US that I know have local lakes...the NAV screen displayed lakes correctly across the whole eastern US.
I would appreciate a response from any Forum members...you may wish to set a couple of destinations for upper WI or MN to double check my findings. Let me know if your A6 chip mapped lakes in MN or upper WI.
